Alex concentrates his practice on representing real estate, local government and small business clients, with a particular emphasis on Indiana tax sale law, in both litigation and transactional matters. Drawing on experiences in government, in-house counsel and law firm settings, Alex delivers an efficient, goal-oriented approach to tackling the myriad of issues presented by a given matter or project. Alex also practices in the area of estate planning and administration. He has served as outside counsel to dozens of municipalities across Indiana and is widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent tax sale practitioners in the state.
Alex graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, summa cum laude, in 2006 with a B.A. in Anthropology. He obtained his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2009 where he also served as an editor for the Indiana Law Review. Alex is a frequent writer and speaker in the area of Indiana tax sale and sheriff sale law, presenting on these topics at educational seminars and conferences annually. Alex was the principal drafter of numerous pieces of tax sale legislation that have passed into law following recent sessions of the Indiana General Assembly.
Alex supports his local community as a Board Member of the Zionsville Lions Club and as chair of the Lions Club Scholarship Committee. He is a member of the Boone County, Indiana and American Bar Associations. Alex is particularly honored to serve as faculty and legal deputy for the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association. He is also a member of the Association of Indiana Counties, the National Sheriffs’ Association, the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, the Indiana County Treasurers’ Association and the Indiana Auditors’ Association. Alex currently resides in Zionsville with his wife, Lindsey, and their four young daughters.
